Disponibile da oggi il nuovo brano “REPO MAN” (https://brucespringsteen.lnk.to/RepoMan) di BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, tratto dall’album perduto “Somewhere North of Nashville” estratto dall’imperdibile “TRACKS II: THE LOST ALBUMS”, i 7 album mai pubblicati in uscita il 27 giugno per Sony Music (pre order: https://brucespringsteen.lnk.to/TheLostAlbumsPR).
L’album inedito “Somewhere North of Nashville” include 12 tracce inspirate ai suoni dei generi honky tonk, rockabilly e country uptempo. Registrato nell’estate del 1995, contemporaneamente a “The Ghost of Tom Joad”, il disco include gran parte della Sessions Band, tra cui Danny Federici, Garry Tallent e Gary Mallaber. Aggiungendo elementi come il pedal steel di Marty Rifkin (in seguito membro della Sessions Band) e il violino di Soozie Tyrell, “Somewhere North Of Nashville” rappresenta la prima volta dai tempi di “Born In The U.S.A.” in cui Springsteen ha inciso materiale dal vivo in studio con una band al completo.
«Quello che è successo è che ho scritto tutte queste canzoni country nello stesso momento in cui scrivevo ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’. Quelle sessioni si sovrappongono completamente. Cantavo ‘Repo Man’ nel pomeriggio e ‘The Line’ di notte. Quindi il disco country è stato realizzato contemporaneamente a ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ ha ricordato Springsteen – ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ mi ha connesso con mia scrittura consapevole dal punto di vista della società e dell’attualità. Quindi è da lì che è venuto fuori ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’. Ma allo stesso tempo avevo anche questa vena country che attraversava quelle sessioni e alla fine ho realizzato parallelamente un disco country».
Questa sera in Inghilterra, a Manchester, in aggiunta all’uscita odierna di “Repo Man”, Bruce Springsteen e la E Street Band daranno il via al The Land of Hope & Dreams Tour. Sarà la prima di 16 date previste quest’estate che prevedono un pubblico di oltre 700.000 fan. Il tour è stato definito “una delle tournée di maggior successo di tutti i tempi” (Pollstar), “il più grande show sulla Terra” (Billboard) e “una lezione magistrale sul potere edificante del rock-and-roll” (Washington Post).
Il Boss salirà sul palco di San Siro a Milano per i due concerti previsti in Italia il 30 giugno e il 3 luglio 2025.
“Repo Man” è il quarto brano ad essere condiviso da “Tracks II”, dopo “Rain in the River”, tratto dall’album perduto “Perfect World”, “Blind Spot”, incluso in “Streets of Philadelphia Sessions” e “Faithless”, tratto dall’album omonimo.
Oltre a queste quattro raccolte, “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” includerà anche gli album completi e inediti di Springsteen: “Inyo”, “Twilight Hours” e “LA Garage Sessions ’83”.
“The Lost Albums” sarà disponibile in edizione limitata in formato 9 LP, 7 CD e digitale, con packaging distintivo per ciascun album inedito e un libro rilegato in tessuto di 100 pagine che include foto d’archivio rare, note dettagliate su ogni album scritte dal saggista Erik Flannigan e una presentazione personale del progetto firmata da Springsteen stesso.
Uscirà il 27 giugno anche il set “Lost And Found: Selections from The Lost Albums“, con 20 brani selezionati dalla raccolta, in formato 2 LP o 1 CD.
Con l’annuncio di “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” all’inizio di aprile, la prossima uscita della raccolta è stata definita “un tesoro” (David Muir, ABC World News Tonight), “sorprendente” (Rolling Stone) e “troppo bello per essere vero” (New York Magazine).
“Praticamente da quando ha pubblicato Tracks nel 1998, i fan hanno invocato questo” ha notato Variety, mentre il New York Times ha aggiunto che persino i più grandi fan di Springsteen saranno “sorpresi dalla portata di Tracks II”.
