Niall Horan torna con il suo terzo album da solista

Dopo avere debuttato pochi mesi fa in testa alle classifiche di diversi paesi con il suo terzo album The Show, Niall Horan torna con The Show: The Encore – una deluxe edition contenente nove bonus track. Horan collabora con Lizzy McAlpine in una nuova versione di “You Could Start A Cult”, che uscirà come singolo il 27 Ottobre, e unisce le proprie forze con John Legend in una nuova versione della title track. La collection contiene anche delle registrazioni live realizzate al festival Electric Picnic e agli Spotify Studios, più le versioni alternative di “Meltdown” e “On A Night Like Tonight” tratte dalla session di Horan per Vevo Extended Play. The Show: The Encore uscirà in digitale per Capitol Records il 3 Novembre. Horan, che a Dicembre concluderà la sua seconda stagione come coach di The Voice, il prossimo anno suonerà per più di 80 date con il suo tour mondiale. Vista la richiesta di biglietti per il “THE SHOW” LIVE ON TOUR 2024 sono state aggiunte ulteriori date negli USA, incluso un secondo show al Madison Square Garden di New York City. Il doppio LP di The Show: The Encore sarà disponibile in un’edizione speciale corredata di un libro di 72 pagine. Il volume, che sarà diviso in tre capitoli riguardanti registrazione, uscita e tour dell’album, conterrà direttamente nelle tasche di copertina i due vinili stampati con uno speciale pattern a girandola. Il libro include più di 100 foto (alcune inedite), i testi dei brani e le corrispondenti stampe di lettere scritte a mano da Horan. The Show: The Encore sarà disponibile anche in cd e 2lp traslucido colorato. The Show ha debuttato alla #1 nella classifica degli album e dei vinili di Billboard – miglior piazzamento di Niall per quanto riguarda i vinili e per Capitol Records dal 1991. L’album ha dominato le chart nella sua Irlanda e in U.K., Australia, Nuova Zelanda, Olanda e Belgio. The Show è stato realizzato da Horan assieme ad una cerchia stretta di collaboratori inclusi Julian Brunetta (Thomas Rhett, SG Lewis), Amy Allen (Halsey, Sam Smith), Jamie Scott (Jessie Ware, Rag’n’Bone Man) e gli acclamati producer John Ryan e Joel Little.

A proposito dell’album Rolling Stone ha scritto “Niall Horan eleva il proprio nome con The Show, il suo terzo e migliore album fino ad ora”. American Songwriter ha osservato che “Niall ha senza dubbio seguito il suo istinto in The Show, realizzando un album che va a fissare il suo nome nel mondo del pop.”

Cantautore da quasi tutta la vita e autodidatta sin da piccolo nel suonare la chitarra, Horan – che descrive un concerto degli Eagles al quale ha assistito a soli quattro anni come un momento cruciale nella formazione della sua sensibilità – ha venduto più di 80 milioni di copie e girato il mondo più volte in tour con gli iconici One Direction. Nel 2017 ha fatto il suo debutto da solista con l’album Flicker, certificato Platino e andato in testa alle classifiche, che conteneva il singolo Triplo Platino “Slow Hands”. Nel 2020 è stata la volta di Heartbreak Weather, #1 nella classifica album UK e in quella Billboard.
